Cancellation of Metro Rail tenders shocks AP

Delhi Metro Rail Corporation decision taken by the (DMRC) to cancel the Amaravathi Metro Rail Corporation (AMRC) tenders has come as a blow to the state government, as the district administration has issued land acquisition notification already.

The AMRC had already arrived into an agreement with two financial institutions from France and Germany over the assistance to the project. At this juncture, the cancellation of tenders led to a suspicion that Union government is deviating from the assurances given by the time of state reorganization.

The rates quoted by the bidders in financial bids were reportedly high and showing the same reason, the DMRC has cancelled the tenders. The same has been communicated to AMRC MD Mr. N.P Ramakrishna Reddy and, in turn, Mr.Reddy has written a letter to the AMRC, seeking the details reason for the cancellation of tenders.

I wrote a latter to the DMRC, Mr Reddy said and added that the MoU between the AMRC and agencies from France and Germany has been finalised over financial assistance. At this juncture, the cancellation of tenders is disappointing, he observed.
